Its history begins - 'Flowery Branch was incorporated in 1874 at a place the Cherokee Indians called Blossom Creek.'In the 1900s Main Street held a hotel, saloon, newspaper, doctor's office, and several businesses. In the 1950s, the Chattahoochee River was dammed and Lake Lanier was formed. Today, the lake is the city's main tourist attraction.'
